Atlanta Falcons Draft Rumors: Roddy White Targets Jadeveon Clowney on Twitter, Cyrus Kouandjio Option as Matt Ryan Requests Tougher Offensive Line in 2014

Roddy White never hides his opinions, especially on Twitter. The Atlanta Falcons wide receiver is now speaking out what the draft plans for his team should look like. The Falcons have several holes on both ends of the ball. Currently in possession of the No. 6 pick overall after finishing the disappointing season 4-12, the team is projected to take either a defensive end or an offensive lineman.

According to White, he believes the Falcons should either draft former South Carolina star Jadeveon Clowney or trade the pick and stock up in later rounds. White tweeted out, I would love us to draft Clowney if he is available but if he isn't we should tradeout and stockpile players got a lot of holes to fill."

White is right about needing to fill holes, but the Falcons appear ready to focus on an offensive line that allowed 44 sacks this season on Matt Ryan and only allowed for an average of 77.9 yards per game rushing. They recently hired Mike Tice to take over the offensive line coaching in hopes of improving. Injuries ran wild as the Falcons were constantly left starting different players each week.

According to White, drafting Clowney will help improve the line. The receiver tweeted out that drafting Clowney means the offensive line will get better because they will face the defensive end in practice every day. That is one way to look at it.

Clowney could still be hanging around when the Falcons prepare to draft. Both the Houston Texans and the Jacksonville Jaguars look ready to grab quarterbacks. The St. Louis Rams have tossed around the idea of a trade. If things work out, Clowney could go to Atlanta and the team could look towards free agency to help fix the offensive line.

White remains confident that the Falcons offense will be just fine when everyone returns healthy. The team lost early starters like Sam Baker and Mike Johnson after letting go of Tyson Clabo in the offseason. The offensive line was never able to recover. Running back Steven Jackson missed several games, as did White. Julio Jones was lost for the season.

Tice has a tough job ahead of him. At No. 6, the Falcons will do better focusing on a lineman like Alabama's Cyruc Kouandjio who recently declared for the draft. Clowney is good as gone in the first five picks.
