The NFL playoffs are just a couple days away from starting and one of the most intriguing matchups of the wild card round is the Green Bay Packers taking on the San Francisco 49ers at Lambeau Field and that matchup will have a tough forecast coming, as it is supposed to be bitterly cold with temperatures feeling like they are below freezing for the game.

According to local weather reports, the temperature in Green Bay for Sunday is supposed to be around four degrees and the low could be 15-below on the day and the wind chill could make things even worse heading into game time. The matchup is the second one of the day on the schedule and will be starting at 4:40 pm on FOX and the game before that has the San Diego Chargers visiting the Cincinnati Bengals in another game that could get very cold and heading into the rematch from last year for Aaron Rodgers and Colin Kaepernick, both players will be looking for an edge on Sunday.

Obviously Rodgers will be more used to the cold after playing there for years, but Kaepernick is from the area and he knows what it's like to play in the cold and it comes after the two teams faced off last season at Candlestick Park in the wild card round of the NFC playoffs. There are reports that thousands of tickets remain for the Packers game and the cold weather likely is a big reason for that and now the two teams will find ways to keep warm.

The temperature is expected to be around eight degrees when kickoff comes and according to Inside Bay Area, the 49ers have not played a game where the temperature is below 34 degrees since Jim Harbaugh has taken over and the coldest game they played was against the Patriots last December and now they will be in a tough environment, but Kaepernick, who was a Packers fan as a kid, is no stranger to the weather and even said that he wouldn't mind playing in the cold.

Aaron Rodgers said to reporters about staying warm: "Eat a lot of chicken noodle soup." When that tip was relayed, 49ers linebacker Patrick Willis replied: "Chicken noodle soup's pretty good. I can't argue with that one."
