The BCS Bowl schedule this season starts in January and predictions for the NCAA college football national champ has many projections have Florida State as the winner and the ESPN matchups this season have a number of top teams playing with Auburn, Alabama, Ohio State, Stanford, Michigan State, Clemson, Oklahoma and Baylor in action.
Auburn made it into the VIZIO BCS National Championship game after a very strong finish to the season and that included an amazing win over the Alabama Crimson Tide in the Iron Bowl and now they will play against the undefeated Seminoles in Pasadena at the Rose Bowl for the final BCS title. This season the BCS system worked and it's the final year of that system before the implementation of the college football playoff and t has a fantastic matchup of FSU and the Tigers, two of the best offensive teams in the nation. The Tigers came out of nowhere to swoop in and win the SEC and they nearly were eliminated from everything during their game against Georgia, but they pulled that out with a miracle play, just like the one against Alabama that came on the final play off of a missed field goal, which has already gone down as one of the greatest plays of all time.
The Tigers have been one of the best rushing teams in the nation and they showed that in the SEC championship game against Missouri, as Tre Mason played himself into the Heisman ceremony with over 300 yards on the ground and four touchdowns. Mason and Nick Marshall have been the two best players for the Tigers this season and the Florida State defense will be focusing on them hard in the national championship game. Florida State didn't play in any close games this season while Auburn was up against it multiple times and that could be an advantage for the Tigers if they hold tight in the championship game.
Alabama ended up third in the BCS after losing to Auburn and Ohio State blew their chance to make it into the national championship with their loss to the Michigan State Spartans. The Crimson Tide will play against the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans after OU defeated Oklahoma State in their final game to help win the Big 12 conference and that could be one of the best BCS matchups. The Crimson Tide were looking to win their third straight championship and fourth in five years and now they will play in a top bowl games after losing to Auburn.
The Orange Bowl could be one of the highest scoring, as the Ohio State Buckeyes will play against the Clemson Tigers and that comes after OSU hadn't lost a game until the Big Ten championship in two seasons. Baylor is playing against UCF in the Fiesta Bowl after winning the Big 12 and the Rose Bowl is a classic Big Ten and Pac-12 matchup with Stanford and Michigan State and that could be a great game as well in Pasadena.
