Indiana Pacers vs. Miami Heat Live Stream: Watch Online ESPN NBA Game Streaming

Dec 18, 2013 06:33 PM EST

The Miami Heat and the Indiana Pacers are at the top of the east standings and as two of the best teams in the NBA, they will meet on Wednesday night in an ESPN game that will air on TV nationally at 7 PM and the matchup will be streaming online from the WatchESPN website and app and could be without LeBron James, who is dealing with an ankle injury and is questionable for the game.

The Heat need LeBron James to win and while they could get a victory on Wednesday without him, in the long run his health is a major concern and the team hopes it isn't anything serious or lingering. Indiana has 20 wins and is the best team in the east and they are tied with the Thunder in the overall NBA standings, while the Portland Trail Blazers are the top team in the league with 22 wins, while Miami is just behind OKC and the San Antonio Spurs with 18 wins after getting off to a slow start. The team easily won home court advantage last season in the playoffs and now they will look to avenge their loss in Indiana earlier in the season with a win at American Airlines Arena and that will be big if they want to overtake the Pacers in the standings. LeBron James has continued to lead the team night in and night out and they are facing a talented Indiana team with players like Paul George, Roy Hibbert and Luis Scola.

Miami comes into the matchup after a big win over the Utah Jazz and that game saw James lead the team in all three major categories once again with 30 points and nine rebounds to go along with nine dimes and the Heat are hoping that he can do that against the Pacers on Wednesday. James is looking to win another MVP award and so far this season he has shown why he is the frontrunner and this year the Pacers appear to be the only legitimate threat in the east to Miami, as they have made it to the finals in each of the past three seasons.

The eastern conference is currently a mess and after coming into the season with high expectations, teams like the Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets do not appear to be real threats to Miami and Indiana. The Chicago Bulls were seen as a major player in the east this season, but after losing Derrick Rose to another knee injury, Miami and Indiana remain the only teams that have a realistic shot at making it to the finals. Last season the east finals went seven games between these two teams and that makes winning the number one seed crucial for both sides and after getting ti last season, Indiana has the inside track right now with a two game lead in the standings.

James is leading Miami in scoring once again and the team comes into the game leading their division by a nice margin and they play at home against the Sacramento Kings before taking a road trip out west. The Heat will play against the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day and then against the Kings again before finishing up against the Blazers and the Nuggets and that game against Portland should be a great matchups against two of the top teams in the NBA.
