The Heisman Trophy award ceremony and presentation is finally here for the college football season and Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston is being predicted as the favorite over the other nominees and the presentation will be on TV starting at 8 PM on ESPN and streaming on WatchESPN and includes candidates Johnny Manziel, AJ McCarron and Tre Mason.

Winston is being looked at as the overwhelming favorite for the award after setting records as a freshman redshirt at FSU and he would be the second player in that year status to win in a row after Johnny Manziel did it last season from Texas A&M. Winston was not charged with any crimes in a possible sexual assault case and that opens things up for the voters to make him the top player in college football and he passed for some big numbers this season, going for over 3,800 yards and tossing 38 touchdowns.Manziel has comparable stats with 41 total touchdowns this season and more passing yards than he did last year, but with the Seminoles undefeated on the season and playing against the Auburn Tigers for the national championship and he has been doing it all year and it looks like he will win it in a landslide after a number of players came into things late and in contention.

Jordan Lynch and AJ McCarron looked like legitimate options before their teams lost their finals games of the season, while Mason burst onto the scene after the SEC championship game due to his performance with over 300 yards rushing and four touchdowns. Andre Williams from Boston College comes in after rushing for over 2,000 yards this season and Lynch has been the most productive along with Johnny Manziel, gaining over 4,500 yards this season with 46 touchdowns compared to 4,400 yards and 41 scores for the Aggies QB. McCarron appeared to have his Heisman moment signed sealed and delivered with his 99-yard touchdown pass against Auburn, but Chris Davis put an end to that and now he comes in as a finalist along with everyone else, but it seems like Winston will win it without it being much of a race.

The ceremony is coming from the Best Buy Theater in New York City for the players and will be on TV on ESPN and streaming from WatchESPN and comes after the players won numerous other awards leading up to the event. Winston won the Walter Camp award while McCarron also won a top award and Manziel said that he would not be voting for himself in the top spot and this the first time in a number of years that there are six players invited. Mason had a huge game with 304 yards against Missouri and that performance along with Winston's troubles likely got him into the mix along with Williams, while Lynch capped off an extremely productive career at Northern Illinois.

The award will be given out around 8:30 pm or a bit later and this season there will be more players to profile and there are a number of interesting storylines for the ESPN show to look at.
