Willis McGahee Fantasy: Cleveland Browns RB Top Waiver Wire Option, Caleb Hanie Possible Starter After Brandon Weeden, Jason Campbell Injuries Hurt QB Depth

The Cleveland Browns are entering desperation mode on offense. After a breakout game by wide receiver Josh Gordon the unit could be headed downhill as uncertainty at the quarterback once again is plaguing the team. The Browns could be on their starter this season after a concussion knocked Brandon Weeden out. Going forward Willis McGahee could be the center piece of the offense.

Heading into Week 14, McGahee is a top waiver wire option as far as running backs are concerned. McGahee has not been overwhelming with the Browns ever since getting the starting role after the trade of Trent Richardson, but he has had his moments. In nine games with the Browns, McGahee has scored four or fewer fantasy points in eight of them. His breakout moment occurred against the Buffalo Bills when he recorded 72 yards and touchdown. However, a strong game against the Jacksonville Jaguars has once again made McGahee a solid option.

The veteran put up his second-highest rushing total of the season after recording 57 yardso n 14 carries in Week 13. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry while also capping things off with a touchdown. McGahee has also seen a jump in fantasy stock after backup Chris Ogbonnaya began struggling with fumbles. In Week 14, McGahee could see his amount of touches skyrocket.

The Browns have no clue who will start under center against the Patriots. After suffering a concussion, Weeden was sent home from practice on Monday. Jason Campbell has finally been cleared to return after suffering his own concussion, but he has not practiced yet with the team. The Browns signed Caleb Hanie as a quarterback option, but he just arrived to the team. Head coach Rob Chudzinski told media that the next 24 to 48 hours will really determine who the Browns put under center.

Chudzinski noted that he will not hesitate to start a "street quarterback" over Campbell or Weeden if they are not healthy to play. Weeden was benched for the second time this season after recording three turnovers against the Jaguars. It is clear the team does not have much faith in what he is capable of going forward.
