The Dallas Cowboys are in great position heading into their traditional Thanksgiving game on Thursday in Week 13 against the Oakland Raiders, as they are coming off a huge win over the New York Giants and now they will play on Turkey Day starting up at 4:30 pm and the game will be on CBS from AT&T Stadium in Texas.

Tony Romo has been playing some great football this season and he has been one of the main reasons why the team is in position to get into sole possession of first place in the NFC east and a win over the Raiders would help that as well. The Cowboys are tied with the Eagles at 6-5 and the two teams play again this season and on top of that, the Boys play before the Eagles in Week 13, meaning they can get two wins in a span of days, while Philly has been off since before last week due to a bye. The Cowboys are undefeated within the division and that is one reason they have played so well and they have now won three of the past five games and four of the past six after starting 2-3 and they are putting themselves in prime position for a playoff run, something that has eluded them over the past few years.

The team has been playing very well in the passing game, but nothing else has been working too well, as the defense is ranked near the bottom of the league in both passing and rushing yards allowed per game, giving up nearly 300 through the air and over 130 on the ground. The Cowboys have been playing better on defense as of late, although the game against the Saints two weeks ago was a big mess and now they come into the game against the Raiders ranked 12th in passing offense with over 240 yards per game. Romo has over 2,900 yards this season with 23 touchdowns and while the rushing game hasn't been great, DeMarco Murray has been very solid while healthy, rushing for over 600 yards and adding four scores.

Dez Bryant and Jason Witten have both been great and they have combined for 14 touchdowns and over 1,100 yards this season to go along with 112 receptions and they have been working well with Romo in the offense. The Redskins are now done at 3-8 and the Giants are clinging to some hope at 4-7, but that loss to the Cowboys hurt their chances very badly for getting to the playoffs.

The Cowboys still have tough games ahead and by no means is the division title a guarantee. Over the past two seasons the Cowboys have had the chance to win the NFC East division title and have failed to do so each year, losing in the final game to the Giants and then the Redskins last season and now they may be in that position again. The team plays the Eagles at home in the final game, changing things up a bit, as the last two were on the road and that Week 17 matchup could decide the division.

Before that the Cowboys play the Raiders this week and then the Chicago Bears on Monday night football. The team has the Packers at home before a road game against the Washington Redskins and then they finish the season with the Eagles.
