The NCAA men's college basketball season is finally getting ready to start on Friday night and there will be a number of exciting games going down and none are more anticipated than the matchup between Oregon and Georgetown, as the two teams will be playing on ESPN starting up at 8 pm and streaming on Watch ESPN from Camp Humphreys in South Korea for the Armed Forces Classic.

College basketball has done this before and now for the second year in a row teams will be playing against each other at a military base and after being in Germany last season, two new teams will be playing in South Korea, as the Ducks and Hoyas will play starting at 8:00 pm and are among nearly all the Top 25 teams in action on Friday. This season Georgetown is not ranked in the top 25 while Oregon comes in at number 19 and the Hoyas now come into the season without Otto Porter after he left for the NBA and he will be one of the biggest names to replace in all of college basketball. Oregon will be playing without two of its top players after Dominic Artis and Ben Carter were suspended indefinitely and that could make the matchup on Friday night a tough one for the team to overcome.

Maryland has a big game against UConn at the Barclays Center and puts the number 18 Huskies against the Terrapins in one of the best matchups of opening night. Shabazz Napier returns for UConn and he should be one of the best players in the nation, while Maryland has to find a replacement for top five draft pick Alex Len, who was one of the best players in the country last season. The two teams on Friday night will be wearing special jerseys for the occasion, as they will be camouflage-print and also will have the American flag on it to support and honor the troops, as the game will be played in front of service men and women for the matchup.

Speaking of jerseys, that's the reason why Artis and Carter were suspended, as they violated some NCAA rules when they sold some team issued apparel and now they will have to wait and see when they come back. The Hoyas are not being looked at as a national title contender this season, but they could still be one of the best teams in the nation and they will get that started up against Oregon overseas. Ducks coach Dana Altman said that the team is excited about the matchup and that the suspended players made mistakes and now they have to suffer with the consequences, even if Oregon is a better team with them on the court. Artis had a solid season last year while averaging just under 10 points and now after possibly being a starter, he is suspended.

Oregon went 28-9 last season and won 12 of 18 games against a tough Pac-12 conference and now they will face Georgetown before an early schedule that is pretty easy before picking up later in the season. Later in the year the team has tough matchups with Illinois as well as Ole Miss and in the Pac-12 conference play will get started early and some games include California, UCLA, Washington as well as Stanford and Arizona, who are ranked sixth in the nation. Georgetown was very good last season while winning 25 games and they went 14-4 in the Big East and now they open against the Ducks and later next month they have a big matchup with Kansas as an early test and they also will face Michigan State later in the season.
