The Houston Rockets so far have been thrilled with the results after signing Dwight Howard in free agency after he led the team to a dominating win against the Bobcats with 26 rebounds, but Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was not too thrilled with the move, saying that Hoard made a mistake signing with the Rockets over the Mavs.

According to ESPN.com, Cuban said to reporters on Thursday ahead of the game with the Rockets that Howard made the wrong choice to sign with Houston, saying that having a better organization and team around a certain player is more important than looking at individually players. Cuban posited that while Howard was looking at who he was going to play around, that he should have been looking at organizations instead and letting them put players around him. Cuban likely is a bit mad that the Mavericks couldn't sign Howard, but he was able to get some free agents into his stable, signing Jose Calderon and Monta Ellis to contracts.

Reports had the Mavericks looking to try and sign Howard as well as Deron Williams, Chris Paul and Andrew Bynum, but he missed out on all those players and now he has a new roster of talent to work with. The Mavericks are still trying to recover from the free agent exodus that they allowed to happen after winning a championship a few years ago and they have not quite recovered from that, as Howard and those other top name players signed with other teams or stayed with their original clubs.

Tyson Chandler was one of the biggest names to leave and now the Mavericks are looking to get back on track after going .500 and missing the playoffs. Howard has been excellent through one game with the Rockets and has said that he is happy in Houston. The roster is very talented with Chandler Parsons, Jeremy Lin and Omer Asik and they should easily finish over the Mavericks in the standings.

Howard started off his Rockets career with a 17 point game with 26 rebounds and he also added in two blocks while playing in over 30 minutes. This season he should be a prime player for the Rockets and the Mavericks will be trying to chase Houston in the standings.
