New York Knicks vs. Chicago Bulls Live Stream: Watch Online NBA TNT Game TV Streaming At 8 PM

Oct 31, 2013 07:32 PM EDT

The New York Knicks started off their season the right way with a victory over the Bucks at MSG and after the Chicago Bulls lost to open the year with the Miami Heat, Derrick Rose and company will be hoping for a better result at the United Center on Thursday at 8 pm for Game 1 of a TNT doubleheader in their home debut.

Rose is playing his first game in front of his home fans since being injured in the playoffs before last season and while he did not get off to the best start against the Heat, his knee looked fine and that will be the main point for the Bulls all season as they monitor his health. Rose will be the key and so will the overall health of Luol Deng, Joakim Noah and Kirk Hinrich, while the addition of Mike Dunleavy should help shore up a three point shooting unit that was pretty bad last season. The Heat took down the Bulls and the game wasn't very close, while the Knicks built a huge lead against the Bucks and nearly blew it before hanging on for the first win of the season and the debut game at the New Madison Square Garden.

Carmelo Anthony is coming into the season with bigger expectations than he probably deserves, but that is what happens when you play in New York and if reports are true, owner James Dolan wants a championship and that could mean Mike Woodson is on the hot seat if he doesn't get the Knicks to at least the eastern conference finals. The Knicks have the potential to make a run in the east, but that will depend on health as well as whether the team can play well together after adding a number of new players, seven in all, including Andrea Bargnani, who had a tough debut for the team, as well as hometown hero Metta World Peace.

Bargnani's first game could be chalked up to nerves, but he was not very good in his first game, scoring only six points and he did not even last 20 minutes on the floor. The Knicks gave up some picks and players in the offseason for Bargnani and now they are expecting him to be a solid second scorer alongside Carmelo and that could be tough for him to adjust to this season. Bargnani missed on all three of his long range shots and while Raymond Felton looked solid as well, he will need some help along the way.

The east is more top heavy than the west with the Knicks, Brooklyn Nets, Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat as well as the Indiana Pacers, while the west is much deeper. The Knicks should be able to beat some of those teams if they matchup in the playoffs, but if they play against the Miami Heat, it could be very tough to deal with. The west has more teams in contention with the Houston Rockets, LA Clippers, Golden State Warriors, San Antonio Spurs as well as the Memphis Grizzlies and there are also a number of other teams like the Lakers, Nuggets and Pelicans that could make some noise.

The Knicks and Bulls will go at it on Thursday night at the United Center in the first game of a doubleheader on TNT and the game starts at 8 pm.
