NBA Bold Predictions 2013: Golden State Warriors Win Western Conference Over Houston Rockets To Make Finals Run Versus Miami Heat

The NBA season is here and with some games already ending in upsets like the Philadelphia 76ers defeating the Miami Heat, here are some bold predictions for the season: the Golden State Warriors will make a run to the western conference finals against the Houston Rockets and they will win against the Houston Rockets to matchup with the Miami Heat in the finals.

Sure, it's a bold prediction for a team that has not made a deep run before and sure, it could go wrong, but the Warriors have some prime talent and adding Andre Iguodala to that mix should be exciting, as they already have Stephen Curry, Harrison Barnes, David Lee, Klay Thompson and David Lee. Mark Jackson has been doing a great job as the coach of the team and he has them playing solid defense extending back to last playoffs and this season they have the chance to do something special.

The Pacific division has talent with the Los Angeles Lakers and the Clippers, while the Warriors look like the only other possible playoff team with the Suns and Kings looking to be bad, although they both started out with wins. The Warriors are coming into their next game against the Los Angeles Clippers after Thompson had a career best performance on Wednesday night and if he can continue playing up to that level, the team should be very good this season.

Last season the Warriors made a surprising run into the second round after defeating the Denver Nuggets and they will look to try and get further this season in the playoffs. The team was one of the highest scoring in the NBA last year and with Iguodala in the fold, they are expected to be just as good or even better. The team already started with a huge win over the Lakers that was a complete blowout and Thompson was the leader, dropping 38 points for the best game of his career.

The biggest questions will be the defense and health, as both Lee and Bogut have dealt with problems in the past, but Bogut looks to be back from his ankle problems and Lee is a double-double machine. The Warriors have a deeper conference than the east and yes, they have tough teams in the Lakers, Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies, San Antonio Spurs and Houston Rockets and the Warriors should be one team that makes some noise this year.
