World Series Standings see the conclusion of the Fall Classic as the Boston Red Sox defeated the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 6 of the 2013 World Series. Behind John Lackey, the Red Sox had no issues closing the door on the Cardinals' season.

It only took Lackey four years to finally have the Boston fans warm up to the right-hander. After signing Lackey, the Red Sox only saw a lot of pain and they witnessed a lot of struggles from their five-year, $82 million acquisition.

In a courageous outing, Lackey told manager John Farrell, "This is my guy." Farrell obeyed and with the crowd's backing, Farrell walked off the mound and left his starter on the mound. Lackey finished the night with 6.2 innings pitched, leaving with the bases loaded and Allen Craig stepping to the mound. Farrell had some words of encouragement as Lackey walked off the field to a screeching ovation. He finished

The Cardinals did not go away without making a threat. In the top of seventh they had their chance to cut the lead by as many as one runs. However, Mike Napoli put an end to that with a stabbing grab down the first base line, tossing it to Junichi Tazawa who was covering first.

The Red Sox got all their runs early, giving Lackey and the Red Sox's bullpen enough runs to work with. First it was Shane Victorino who knocked in three runs with a bases clearing double. He has been 0-10, but once again, it is better to be clutch than consistent if you are a Red Sox this postseason. Victorino also brought in David Ortiz in the fourth inning, finishing the night with four RBI.

Stephen Drew took Michael Wacha deep and Mike Napoli also drove in a run in the game. By the time Wacha left the game, it was only the fourth inning and the Red Sox were up 6-0.

Now, the city of Boston gets ready for a pomp celebration as they will treat their champions to a parade. If there was any reason why the Red Sox should have won, other than playing because it brings the franchise success, it is to reward the city of Boston for their strength following the tragedies at the Boston Marathon.

More info on the parade will be made available. For now, the Red Sox will celebrate and thank their MVP, Big Papi Ortiz.
