The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup is tied at the top of the standings after Matt Kenseth finished in second place and now he is neck and neck with Jimmie Johnson with just three races left to go including at Texas and Jeff Gordon got the win at Martinsville Speedway for the victory while he is far back in the standings and now it comes down to three for the championship.

Kenseth led for most of the day and Johnson was very strong at the end and now he goes for his sixth championship and things will remain very tight heading down the stretch. Kenseth has been driving very well and Johnson now is in great position to win and the race next week is going to be a massive test for the two and now Gordon has a victory heading down the final stretch as well and things will only get more dramatic for NASCAR here and they have to be thrilled with the results and it also was Gordon's first win of the season.

The race on Sunday at Martinsville was exciting and now Jeff Gordon has the win and Matt Kenseth finished in second place in the race to Jimmie Johnson to tie him on top of the Chase Sprint Cup standings in NASCAR for the championship.

Kevin Harvick and Jeff Gordon are in the top five in the fourth and fifth spots and behind them are Greg Biffle, Earnhardt, Clint Bowyer and Kurt Busch ahead of Carl Edwards in the top 10. The final three are Ryan Newman, Joey Logano and Kasey Kahne. Earnhardt had his chances before the crash and McMurray was able to snap a 108-race streak of not winning and the final lap had a caution after Austin Dillon flipped and now the final four races of the season will be tough as the top of the standings are pretty stacked close.

The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup picks up this weekend on Sunday afternoon from Martinsville Speedway and now with three races left to come after this the standings are now basically with Jimmie Johnson and Matt Kenseth and those two are going to battle it out in the playoffs from Virginia and the race event will be on ESPN starting up after 1:30 pm and it will be streaming on Watch ESPN.

There was a crash at the end of the race that helped McMurray along and now Johnson is the leader in the championship chase, as he took over Matt Kenseth's top spot for first place after finishing the day in 13th and now he will be ahead by four points heading into the next race at Martinsville Speedway and now the former champion has the chance to add another title to him trophy case. Kenseth came in 20th for the day and while he now is in second place, he has been driving very well during the Chase and he was in the mix early in the day on Sunday in the race. Dale Earnhardt finished in second place in the race, while Ricky Stenhouse, Paul Menard and Kyle Busch rounded out the top five. The standings now have Johnson at the top with Kenseth just a handful of points behind, while Kyle Busch is now 26 points back in the standings.

Johnson and Kenseth will be battling at Martinsville Speedway after a dramatic race last weekend and after this the crews will be in Texas for the next race and then in Phoenix before finishing up at Miami in the Ford 400 and will be the final race of the season and the Chase for the Sprint Cup will be coming down to it with two racers coming in and the standings are getting very tight at the top. The Chase for the Sprint Cup has a new leader and after an exciting race at Talladega Superspeedway on Sunday, Jimmie Johnson is now in first place in the postseason standings, while Jamie McMurray was able to pull off the victory in Alabama for his first win in three years and now there are just four races left to go in the championship schedule.
