The Giants have already lost to Philly this season at home in the fifth game of the season and while they are very far out of the division and playoff race, a win at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday would be another step in the right direction to improve to 2-6. According to ESPN.com, after missing last week's game with a hamstring injury, Michael Vick will make the start against the Giants on Sunday and that comes after he originally suffered the injury in the game against New York at MetLife Stadium.

The Giants lost that game big, but they did a few things well, including holding back LeSean McCoy to just 45 yards on 20 carries and after doing a great job on Monday night against Adrian Peterson they could carry that momentum into Sunday. Vick has been having a so-so season when he's been healthy and he has passed for five touchdowns with two interceptions while passing for over 1,100 yards and he could be a bit limited on Sunday even if he gets the start. The Giants have the chance to at least have a "respectable" season after starting 0-6 for the first time in decades and while the postseason could be very far out of reach, playing some good football is not.

Monday night's game was a rough one to watch for fans, but in the NFL a win is a win and that is what the Giants needed against a bad Vikings team that is in a tailspin. The Giants season and any chance they have to do at anything rests on this next stretch of games and in the same way that the Vikings matchup was set up for the team to win, this stretch has its bright side as well. The Giants had to win on Monday night: The Vikings had a new quarterback AND were coming off of a loss AND had a banged up Adrian Peterson AND the game was at home and obviously they got it done. Now the team is in the midst of a solid stretch at home with some winnable games. The team had a long week preparing after the Thursday night game and now they travel to Philly, which is a very short road trip from Jersey and that leads into the much-needed bye week.

David Baas is done and Chris Snee already was placed on the IR and there are plenty of other injuries that need more time to heal, including running backs Brandon Jacobs, David Wilson and Andre Brown. The team now has Peyton Hillis and after the bye week are three straight home games against the Raiders, Packers and Cowboys and those are games the team must win to have any chance of getting back into things.
