Brooklyn Nets vs. Miami Heat Live Stream: Watch NBA Preseason Online Streaming NBA TV At 7:30 PM

Oct 25, 2013 07:04 PM EDT

The Miami Heat are the NBA champions and until someone in the eastern conference can break their streak of three straight appearances in the finals, they are considered the favorites and one team that has the chance to do it are the Brooklyn Nets and the two teams will battle in their final preseason matchup on Friday night, starting up at 7:30 PM ET on NBATV at the AmericanAirlines Arena and streaming online.

The game will feature a number of big names and while LeBron James, Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Greg Oden may not play much, the matchup gives both teams a chance to size each other up ahead of the season, as they could be the last ones left in the conference when it's all said and done. LeBron is coming back after another MVP season and while the East will be tougher than last season with Derrick rose returning, that doesn't mean the team won't be able to take them down. Oden is coming back from serious knee surgery and will be playing for the first time in years and while he is going to take it slow, he looked good in the preseason and he could be a big force as Miami tries to make it three championships in a row and it would be a very nice story for Oden, who was the number one pick before dealing with chronic knee issues.

Last season the Heat and the Pacers went the distance and so did the finals with the Spurs and that came after the amazing Ray Allen three and now the team will be ready for another run. The east should be tougher this season with the Bulls adding rose back and they also signed Mike Dunleavy and that should be much better for their outside shooting. The team has depth and strong starting lineup and another team that will be better are the Pacers, as they added Luis Scola and already are stacked and they also get back Danny Granger. The Brooklyn Nets obviously are there and so are the Knicks, who will have a motivated Carmelo Anthony trying to win that elusive title.

The team was ranked in the top five in scoring offense last season with over 102 points per game and the defense was stellar, holding opponents to under 96 points per contest and that is where their strength will be again this season. Having Dwyane Wade back healthy is a priority for the team and if he can remain on the court without losing too many games to injury, that will also help free up James to be more of a scorer and a distribution and based on the play they made in their last game against the Pelicans, teams are hoping Wade is not all back.

The Pelicans were 6-0 when they battled the Heat, but they lost by over 10 and LeBron led the way with 27 points, while Chris Bosh was impressive with nine rebounds and seven assists in the matchup. The Heat have won two straight in the preseason and now will face the Nets for the second time in their final game and before that they lost two straight to the Nets and Wizards, but won every other game, including opening against the Heat. The regular season opener will be against the Chicago Bulls and the team will raise up its championship banners for the national game on Tuesday as one of the three games on the NBA docket.
