NBA Regular Season Schedule 2013: Start Date Tuesday With Chicago Bulls, Miami Heat and Lakers

Oct 24, 2013 02:33 PM EDT

The NBA season is right around the corner and with the preseason schedule coming to a close, the regular season is slated to start up on Tuesday October 29 and there are some great matchups, including the Miami heat raising their banners before playing the Chicago bulls, while the Lakers and Clippers are in Los Angeles and the Indiana Pacers play the Magic.

The following day starts up the season in full, as the rest of the league will be playing games and there are some great matchups to start, including the Brooklyn Nets taking on the Cleveland Cavaliers as well as Miami playing back to back against the 76ers after taking on the Bulls and that could be one of the most lopsided games on the schedule for the opening of the season. The Boston Celtics will take on the Toronto Raptors while the Wizards and Pistons will also face off.

The schedule continues with the Bucks taking on the New York Knicks and the team will finally get to play some games at Madison Square Garden after all the construction and then the Houston Rockets will host the Bobcats and then after that Orlando and Minnesota will go at it. Indiana and the Pelicans will play next and then Dallas and Atlanta will go at it and the rest of the day includes games with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Spurs and that is in San Antonio and could be a nice rematch from the Western conference finals.

The Thunder and Jazz will play in a matchup of two teams without an "s" at the end of their names and later on the Blazers and the Phoenix Suns, while the Denver Nuggets will play against the Kings and the final game on the docket is the Los Angeles Lakers and the Golden State Warriors. The Bulls are coming into the season with high expectations after the return of Derrick Rose and in the preseason so far he has not been a disappointment, looking very explosive in games and it appears that he is fully back after having surgery.

This season the Bulls have a tough road with Miami in the East and teams like the Indiana Pacers, New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets all are improved and all will be gunning for them. Rose is an MVP favorite behind LeBron James and he has the chance to get the team deep in the playoffs after they won one round without him. The Bulls added Mike Dunleavy this offseason and that will be a huge boost, as they were terrible from long range last season.

The Bulls come into the season after being ranked 29th in scoring, but having Rose on the floor will surely help that and they bring back the best defense in the NBA as well. The Heat have a top five scoring offense and defense and they will be the toughest team to take down and they start the season with the Bulls and then the team plays the Wizards, Raptors and Clippers before the Celtics, Bucks and Mavericks.

Schedule Tuesday:

Orlando at Indiana       7:00 PM

Chicago at Miami         8:00 PM

LA Clippers at LA Lakers        10:30 PM
