The NFL schedule is now moving into Week 8 and that means the second game of the season in London will be going down, as the San Francisco 49ers will play the Jacksonville Jaguars after the Vikings and Steelers played and ahead of that game, the league announced three more games for 2013, including ones featuring the Detroit Lions, Dolphins, Oakland Raiders and Dallas Cowboys.
The 49ers will be playing as the away team in London against Jacksonville and that's nice for Frisco fans and the matchup comes after the team won against the Titans on the road in Week 7 to extend their winning streak to four games this season. The team started off 1-2 but has since won four games and now they will play the Jags before having a bye in Week 9, giving them time to rest up for the second half of the schedule after playing the game on Sunday in England at Wembley Stadium and dealing with jet lag and the time difference. According to ESPN.com, the NFL announced that there will be three games in England, the Jaguars and Cowboys, the Falcons hosting the Detroit Lions and the Raiders hosting the Miami Dolphins.
Coming out of the bye the team has a game at home against the improved Carolina Panthers and then they will play on the road for two straight games against the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Redskins. That starts off a tough stretch for the team and after the Sunday game against the Saints in Week 11, they will play a primetime matchup for their first game on Monday night football this season on the road against Robert Griffin III and the Washington Redskins and that could be a very entertaining game for both sides and for the league.
Things do not get much easier after that, as the team plays the Rams at home and then hosts the division rival Seahawks, who already defeated the team in Seattle this season and that game could be a matchup that helps decide the NFC West division, which the 49ers currently are behind the Seahawks in. After that the team plays on the road against the Buccaneers and while that game should be easy, the east coast trip never is for teams and they likely will win that game with some tired legs.
The 49ers have the final Monday matchup of the season in Week 16 against the Atlanta Falcons, as they will host the team in a rematch of the NFC championship game last season. The 49ers then will finish the season on the road against the Arizona Cardinals in another division game after previously beating the team at home earlier in the season.
