New York Giants Schedule Week 7: Starting Time At 8:30 PM On Monday Night Football At MetLife Stadium Against Minnesota Vikings

Oct 21, 2013 04:32 PM EDT

The New York Giants are the worst team in the NFL not named the Jaguars and now the team will puts its 0-6 record on the line on Monday night football when they play against the Minnesota Vikings in a game that will start up for Eli manning and company at 8:30 PM on ESPN and Mike Tirico and Jon Gruden will have the call and it will be streaming on Watch ESPN.

The Giants were not expecting to have such a bad season and after the losses have piled up, the team now has to figure out a way to get out the hole they are in and it starts on Monday with the Vikings. Eli Manning has done no favors to the team with his 15 interceptions and now the Vikings come to town with one of the worst passing defenses in the league and he will have to use Hakeem Nicks, Victor Cruz and Rueben Randle as his top targets on the day, as the running game could be a bit weak.

The team is coming in with Brandon Jacobs out of the lineup and that means Peyton Hillis, who was just signed, will be getting the bulk of the carries ahead of rookie Michael Cox, who the team feels is not ready for that role yet. David Wilson being injured has hampered the team and so has the injury to Andre Brown, who has been out since the preseason and the struggles for the Giants can be attributed to him breaking his leg, as the running game never got a chance to start and now it is one of the worst in the league. The offensive line has been terrible in front of Manning and the rushing game and now the team must try and get its first win against a team that is also struggling at 1-4 with the Vikings.

Adrian Peterson is coming off of a down game and he is banged up and dealing with a personal tragedy, but that likely will not keep him out on Monday night and now the team has the chance to win as well to make the Giants even more miserable at 0-7. The Vikings have had some nice flashes this season, but the game is made for the Giants on Monday night and if they can't win they will have some problems.

The Giants are coming off of a long week after playing Thursday night and have had time to rest and prepare. The Vikings were beat soundly last week by the Panthers and are breaking in a new quarterback and that should allow the Giants to take advantage. They have to win this game as their next matchup is a road game against the Eagles and then they have a bye before three home games against the Raiders, Packers and Cowboys and they really need to get their act together or it could be the end for Tom Coughlin despite the fact that he has own two Super Bowls with Manning.
