The Arizona Cardinals are still very much alive in the NFC West divisional race after starting the season 3-3 and on Thursday night they will get the chance to try and get closer to the top, as they host the Seattle Seahawks at University of Phoenix Stadium for Thursday night football in a game that will be airing on the NFL Network at 8:25 PM.

Coming into the Week 7 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals, the Seattle Seahawks had a very short week to prepare and it was a week they may have needed it, as their win over the Tennessee titans on Sunday was a sloppy one, but head coach Pete Carroll said he would have time to correct things before playing the divisional matchup at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Cardinals are coming into the matchup after losing to the 49ers on the road, but now they will get the division leader of the West at home for the first game on the schedule. Russell Wilson didn't have a touchdown last week in the win, but he played well when he needed to and now the Seahawks are 5-1 and one of the best teams in the conference.

Carson Palmer has been an upgrade at quarterback for the Cardinals after dealing with John Skelton, Ryan Lindley and Kevin Kolb last season and he has the team ranked 18th in passing yards per game, something head coach Bruce Arians surely wants to improve. Palmer had the Raiders looking good in the passing game last season despite going just 4-12 on the year and now he has a top flight wideout in Larry Fitzgerald to work with and the running game is coming around with Rashard Mendenhall and Andre Ellington getting better each week.

The Cardinals won two straight games before losing to the Niners and they looked very impressive against the Carolina Panthers, but it's hard to figure fi that was more on the Panthers playing badly or the Cardinals beating them in the matchup. The next three games will be at home for the Cardinals and with a bye week in the middle, that should give players like Larry Fitzgerald time to heal up, as he has been playing through an injury the past few weeks.

Fitzgerald is coming off of his best game of the season after making six catches for 117 yards and a touchdown and he will have a tough game against the Seahawks, as they have one of the best secondary units in the league, including a shutdown cornerback in Richard Sherman, considered by many to be the best ranked corner in the NFL now. Fitzgerald likely will have Sherman on him for the majority of the game and he comes into the Thursday night matchup with 30 catches for over 400 yards and four touchdowns this season and last week marked his first game over double-digit targets this season and that could mean even more from Palmer on Thursday night.

The Seahawks have a tough defense and a very productive offense and they currently rank second in the league with over 150 rushing yards per game. The team has the second ranked passing defense in yards per game and that will make it tough for the Cardinals on Thursday. The game on the NFL Network is for Thursday night football and the game between the Seahawks and the Cardinals will be live on TV at 8:25 pm from University of Phoenix Stadium.
