BCS Standings AP Top 25 Rankings: Alabama and Oregon Top Teams In Nation After Saturday Games

Oct 14, 2013 02:56 PM EDT

The BCS Standings are still a week away from debuting, but the AP Top 25 has some telling projections for the rankings, as Alabama and Oregon stayed in the top two spots and the SEC conference got a record eight teams in the Associated Press rankings.

The Crimson Tide remained undefeated against Kentucky, while Oregon got past the Washington Huskies and behind those top two teams are the Clemson Tigers at three, Ohio State at four and rounding out the top five after the Buckeyes are the Florida State Seminoles. Stanford dropped out of the top five after being upset by Utah and the top teams remained in place and behind them included a record amount of SEC teams and now Clemson and Florida State will be facing off in an ACC game that is a top five matchup.

Alabama stayed in the top spot with 55 of the first place votes and they should remain in that position until they lose a game, if they lose a game. The SEC got Missouri to move up after defeating Georgia and other teams that were in the top ranks include the Bulldogs, South Carolina Gamecocks, as well as LSU, Texas A&M and Florida. The SEC could continue their dominance this season and the game between FSU and Clemson could have national implications come the end of the year.
