As you can see, there are some afternoon games sandwiched in there. The good news is that Detroit and Boston are in the same time zone. So fans will not have to lose sleep (unless their team loses) by staying up late and waiting for the games to conclude.

The Tigers are in very familiar territory. They are back in the ALCS for the third straight year. In their previous two appearances, the Tigers are 1-1. They lost to the Texas Rangers in 2011 and then swept the terribly injured New York Yankees in 2012. Consequently, the Tigers are looking to make their third World Series appearance since 2006, while looking for their second straight apperance in the Fall Classic.

From the looks of it, Justin Verlander is back. Either that or the Oakland A's simply shake in their boots when he's on the mound. His game 5 performance is getting a little repetitive, but you don't see pitchers clinch series the way Verlander did. He pitched eight innings of one-run baseball, striking out 10 A's and allowing only two hits all night.

The Tigers owned the series against the Red Sox during the regular season, but Detroit will not excellent pitching to surface once again in this series. The Red Sox pounded the Rays, scoring 26 runs, tied for first in the 2013 playoffs, a total only the Los Angeles Dodgers could match. The Tigers' offense will also have to surface as the Red Sox's pitching only allowed 12 runs in four games.

Do the Tigers have it in them to make it to the World Series and win it all? They will have to get past this might Red Sox team, which will be the truth test of the postseason for Detroit.
