The New York Giants are 0-5 this year and while hope is fading fast for the 2013season, the team has one chance to turn things around and that starts on Thursday night, as the Chicago Bears will be hosting them for Thursday night football on the NFL Network with the game starting at 8:25 pm.

The Giants are coming off of a loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and now they have a short week to prepare for a Bears team that is coming off two straight losses and is looking for a win as well. Chicago started the season 3-0 and now are 3-2 and they will be trying to stop the slide on Thursday as well and that is bad news for the Giants. An 0-5 start is terrible but an 0-6 start would be disastrous and with Eli Manning and Tom Coughlin already coming under fire for the start, things could get even worse.

The hard part for the Giants is that they really aren't doing anything well, as they can't protect Manning, the offensive and defensive lines are a mess, the secondary is terrible, the rushing game is nonexistent and on top of that they are turning the ball over at an alarming rate. The team has given up 30 points or more in every game this season and have not scored more than 30 points in any game but the opener, which was a blowout against the Cowboys before they came back to make it close.

The Giants were demolished by the Broncos and then shut out in embarrassing fashion by the Panthers and then they lost two straight games, one to the Chiefs and Andy Reid before dropping the game on Sunday against his former team in the Eagles. After the Bears the team has a long week to prepare for the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night football and then they will get another chance to play the Eagles on the road. The bye week can't come sooner for the team and any chance they have of having a semi-not-terrible season must start with a win on Thursday.

The Giants second half schedule doesn't get much easier, as they start with three home games against the Oakland Raiders, Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys before hitting the road for two straight games against the Redskins and the Chargers on the West coast, which is always fun for Eli Manning. The team hosts the Seattle Seahawks at MetLife and then they travel to play the Detroit Lions before finishing the season at home against the Washington Redskins. The Bears have the Washington Redskins next before their bye and after starting 3-0 under Marc Trestman and now they will try to avoid losing for the third straight week.
