Social media can become a serious weapon for athletes. It can help provide serious bulletin board material for teams or start a rivalry on and off the field. LeSean McCoy and Knowshon Moreno are the latest examples of this as the two running backs exchanged shots at each other over the weekend.

Everything started after ESPN commentator Skip Bayless tweeted about the Denver Broncos-Dallas Cowboys game. He noted that quarterback Peyton Manning was doing exactly what he is known to do but that, "Knowshow is KILLING the Cowboys." The tweet felt harmless. Moreno put up 93 yards on 19 carries in the game with one touchdown. The Cowboys defense let him average 4.9 yards a carry to make Bayless' statement was true.

McCoy opted to retweet the remark with the comment, "Knowshow sucks." Now, that does not seem very fair, McCoy. Moreno had a strong game and he deserved the praise. Well since athletes are the ultimate Twitter trolls, Moreno naturally responded to McCoy's jab. He remained classy saying, "Glad @CutonDime25 (McCoy) was watching our game tonight. Great team win, lets keeprolling. #5-0 #LetHatersHate #ShotsWereFiredButNoOneGotHit." #StayClassyMcCoyMoreno. Ok, he did not say that last hashtag.

For a quick comparison of the two seasons both running backs are currently having. McCoy has 514 rushing yards off 98 carries and three touchdowns. He also has 186 receiving yards. McCoy is putting up 5.2 yards per carry as the lead back in Philadelphia. Moreno has wavered as the lead running back, but has 331 yards rushing on 65 carries and four touchdowns. He also has 127 receiving yards on 13 passes. Moreno is averaging 5.1 yards per carry.

By the numbers, McCoy is having the better season, but Moreno is making more of an impact when handed the ball. The 5.1 yards per carry is certainly something to brag about. No to mention, the Broncos are 5-0 and looking more and more like the best team in the league with each game. The Eagles are 2-3 and quarterback Michael Vick is expected to miss time with a hamstring injury.

Somehow Bayless always manages to start feuds. Remember when he let Kevin Durant openly diss Dwyane Wade, opening the door to another social media feud? Moreno is the ultimate winner this round as the Broncos squashed the Eagles in Week 4, 52-20.
