Pirates, Cardinals Score for Game 2 with Play-by-Play, Lineups and Stats

The St. Louis Cardinals host the Pittsburgh Pirates in Game 2 of the NLDS. If you can't watch or listen to the game online, get access to the game's score, starting lineups and stats.

The Pirates will look to score more runs than they did yesterday. I mean, the logic is that if a team only scores one run, they expect their starting pitcher to be lights out or the bullpen to hold a very slim lead. The Pirates were stymied yesterday by the Cardinals. Pedro Alvarez was able to avoid the goose egg as he sent a bomb over the right field wall. However, that was not enough to get the Pirates the victory as A.J. Burnett struggled in Game 1.

Here is the Pirates' starting lineup in Game 2.
1. Starlin Marte LF
2. Neil Walker 2B
3. Andrew McCutchen CF
4. Justin Morneau 1B
5. Marlon Byrd RF
6. Pedro Alvarez 3B
7. Russell Martin C
8. Jordy Mercer SS
9. Gerrit Cole P

The Cardinals will attempt to take a 2-0 lead in the series, which will really place a dent in the Pirates attempt to bring a World Series back to Pittsburgh. They hope Lance Lynn is able to keep the Pirates' at bay (no pun intended) as their lineup can easily catch fire and score runs by the ton. Rest assure, the Cardinals' offense will take advantage if Pirates' rookie, Gerrit Cole, decides to make mistakes and shows up nervouse.

Here's the Cardinals' lineup:
1. Matt Carpenter 2B
2. Carlos Beltran RF
3. Matt Holliday RF
4. Matthew Adams 1B
5. Yadier Molina C
6. Jon Jay CF
7. David Freese 3B
8. Daniel Descalso SS
9. Lance Lynn
