The Cleveland Browns are feeling good about themselves after winning two straight games since trading away former first round pick Trent Richardson and now the team will start off Week 5 with a game against the Buffalo Bills on Thursday night football and some players for fantasy owners to watch out for includes Jordan Cameron, Brian Hoyer and Josh Gordon.
The Browns were thought to be tanking after making the Richardson trade, but so far the team has won its two games and now it will be looking for three in a row on Thursday night. Willis McGahee has started slow since coming in after the Richardson trade, but he could get plenty of action on Thursday night against a Bills defense that ranks in the bottom part of the league against the run.
McGahee was signed after Richardson was traded and after getting just eight carries against the Vikings, he almost doubled his touches against the Bengals while gaining nearly 50 yards on the ground. The Browns could have him on the field more on Thursday night and that could be a nice boost for fantasy owners looking for some deep sleepers. The Browns have done a good job of spreading the ball around the past couple weeks and with Brian Hoyer playing well, a consistent running game could be very valuable on Thursday night.
Jordan Cameron has been one of the most consistent and surprising players in fantasy this season, already snagging five touchdown receptions while also totaling 30 catches and 360 yards through five games. Cameron opened the season with a big game of nine catches for 108 yards and a touchdown and he has continued to be productive, making at least five catches in every game and going for at least 90 yards and a touchdown in three out of four games.
Cameron already ranks fifth in the league in catches and third in touchdowns and in the past two weeks he has had double digit targets from Hoyer, making it three out of four games that he has had that many targets. Cameron is leading the team in receiving and one thing that has helped is the return of Josh Gordon, who has stretched the defense and has opened up the offense with Hoyer.
Gordon is the best deep threat for the team and with his speed he is a solid option to score TDs and after playing in just two games he already ranks fourth in yards per game after going for 146 in his first game and 71 last week against the Bengals. In the opening game against the Vikings for his season, he made 120 catches for 146 yards and a TD and he will be looking to have another solid game on Thursday.
