Mark Ingram Trade Rumors: New Orleans Saints RB Inactive For Monday Night Football With Toe Injury, Could NY Giants Make A Deal?

The New Orleans Saints are the latest team to hit 4-0 this season after defeating the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football on ESPN and Drew Brees had himself another record setting night, passing for over 300 yards in his ninth straight game.

The Saints looked very hard to beat on offense with Brees passing for over 400 yards and four touchdowns and with the rushing game being mostly non-existent, trade rumors have started to pop up again regarding running back Mark Ingram. According to ESPN.com, Ingram previously denied trade reports about him and with Ingram missing the Monday night game with an injury as an inactive player, he could be moved before the trading deadline.

The Saints rushed for less than 70 yards on the ground in the game and with Pierre Thomas and Darren Sproles being capable backs, it wouldn't be a surprise to see New Orleans make a move. The ESPN report had quotes from Ingram saying that he never brought anything up about a trade, but the team could decide to make a move after he has been mostly a disappointment since being a top pick a couple years ago back in 2011 at the end of the first round at number 28.

Ingram has not been very productive this season or any of his seasons in the league, rushing for 31 yards this season and 602 yards last year. As a rookie he rushed for 474 yards and with the Saints not being a team that runs the ball much, he could be expendable and right now he isn't contributing after dealing with a toe injury.
