The NFL season is heading into Week 4 after the San Francisco 49ers and the St. Louis Rams played on Thursday night and the standings around the league have some surprising teams on the winning side of things, including the Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Miami Dolphins.

Some teams are more surprising than others of course, with the Chiefs rebounding from a 2-14 record to start 3-0, as well as the Dolphins, who are also 3-0 after finishing under .500 last season. The Saints are leading the division in the NFC South with a 3-0 record and while that isn't thaaaat surprising since they have Drew Brees and won a Super Bowl semi-recently, they did start 0-4 last season, so this year clearly is a better start.

The New England Patriots are in first place in the AFC East at 3-0, but they have a neighbor at the top of the division, as the new-look Miami Dolphins are also undefeated this season. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill has looked good during his second season in the NFL and the addition of Mike Wallace and the re-signing of Brian Hartline have looked like very good decisions. The team still has tough games ahead, but so far the offseason spending on Wallace, Dannell Ellerbe and Philip Wheeler as well as Brent Grimes appears to have paid off..literally.

Tannehill has been very accurate with the football this season, completing at least 63 percent of his passes in all three games and he has thrown a touchdown in each game this season as well. Tannehill has twice as many touchdowns as interceptions this season and he passed for 272 yards in Week 1 before throwing for 319 yards and against fellow 2012 draft pick Andrew Luck before going 24-for-35 for 236 yards in the win against the Falcons last week.

This week the Dolphins will travel to New Orleans to play the Saints on Monday Night Football and obviously one of those teams will end up with a 3-1 record. The Saints have been playing very well through three games, playing very solid defense along with a high powered passing game and now they are 3-0 and are up in the NFC South after winning two early division games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Atlanta Falcons.

The Jets are hanging around in the AFC East after defeating the Bills on Sunday and they are nipping at the heels of the Pats and Dolphins at 2-1. The Chiefs are tied in first place in the AFC West with the Denver Broncos at 3-0.
