The NFL RedZone is the greatest thing to ever happen in sports and I am extremely convinced of this after having experienced it for the first time this past weekend for Week 3 on the NFL schedule, as I was able to watch literally every NFL game that was going on during the afternoon and saw every scoring play in every game at that time.

Sorry to repeat the word every so much, but the NFL RedZone channel literally brings you EVERY scoring play in the NFL over the weekend and is just a non-stop rush during the day on Sunday. The channel has been available on my cable network for a couple years now but I never had the chance to pony up for it and now that I have, I must say that it's pretty fantastic. The channel runs on game days and that's it and with the other companies paying so much for rights, the channel only shows the games in the afternoon on Sunday and it's amazing for fantasy football owners, as they can watch all their players perform and they can see if they are in the actual red zone as well.

Scott Hanson is a great person to have hosting the game coverage, as he uses great segues to set up the action when the coverage switches from game to game and he also gives great context to the viewer about what they are seeing. The channel does a good job when there are two games with action at the same time, as they do a double screen of games at the same time and sometimes they put up updates for all the games going on. The jumps from scoring plays is not at a frenzied pace and if the coverage misses some significant plays, it always jumps back and shows them.

The channel also covers more than just scoring plays, showing highlights and drives by teams as well turnovers and other significant action. The payoff is big for fantasy owners who hate following stat sheets and now it enables viewers to watch all the action at once. I am a New York Giants and fan and with the atrocious game they are having against the Carolina Panthers, down 31-0 in the third quarter, the RedZone has been absolutely perfect since it is unbearable to watch them play.

The RedZone costs some extra money and it something that obviously isn't necessary, but for true football fans who love staying up on the action and fantasy football owners that have a hard time keeping up with games, it is a perfect things to snag on TV.
