Floyd Mayweather Jr. defeated Saul "Canelo" Alvarez by unanimous decision. The final score 114-114 even, 116-112, 117-111 in favor of the still undefeated Mayweather.

Mayweather established his right straights, jabbing his way throw Canelo's defense. With his mighty jab, Canelo's left eye became fairly swollen early on in the rounds. He was not wounded badly, but Mayweather got some good hits on the Mexican, winning the 45th straight bout of his career.

Mayweather clocked Canelo very well in the seventh round, connecting with lethal jabs and straights. At one point, Mayweather threw about 20 punches, without Canelo releasing a single punch. Canelo went to the ropes and it looked as through Mayweather had the best of the Mexican.

By the ninth round, Canelo looked as though he was becoming fatigued. Canelo dropped his hands, where Mayweather socked the 23-year-old with a nice hook.

Canelo tried cutting the ring, but in typical Mayweather fashion, the veteran would escape the ropes and find a way to counter. Canelo simply explained that he couldn't catch Mayweather and didn't know how to attack his opponent as frustration grew throughout the match.

Mayweather thanked his fans and said that Canelo could easily bounce back and fight once again. Mayweather was a bit shocked after founding out a judge had the fight as a draw. Mayweather wished he had attacked more earlier, thinking this would have made a difference in the bout. How did Mayweather ultimately describe his fight "It was cool."

Maywather might look at Danny Garcia or Lucas Matthyse for his next bout. Canelo simply looked at it as a great experience and saw his youth as an advantage, guaranteeing he'd be better prepared for his next fight.
