The South Carolina Gamecocks are looking to rebound from their tough loss to Georgia last week as they get ready to host the Vanderbilt Commodores at Williams-Brice Stadium and after being held back for a couple games, Jadeveon Clowney will be looking to break out in a big way on Saturday night on ESPN.
Head coach Steve Spurrier knows that Vandy will be looking for an upset after the team lost to the Bulldogs and the Gamecocks will have to try and avoid a letdown in the game on Saturday after being beat 41-30 against Georgia. South Carolina is already down 0-1 in the SEC and now they will try to avoid going 0-2 in the conference, as will Vanderbilt. Clowney will be looking for his first big game of the season after many picked him as a Heisman candidate and many teams have tried to make sure he isn't dominating, including Georgia, who built their gameplan around taking him out of the game.

The Gamecocks defeated North Carolina despite the Tar Heels doing the same thing and the defense will be ready to play Vandy, who struggled on offense the last time the two teams played in SC. Last year the two teams played in Tennessee and it was a close game that saw plenty of action from the front line of the Gamecocks defense and this year they will try to do the same. South Carolina will rely heavily on Connor Shaw and Spurrier needs him to have a big game to make sure the team avoids another let down like they did last week.
The Commodores have had a tough time on the road over the past two seasons and it could be a fatal blow to the season for the Gamecocks after coming in with national aspirations and going 0-2 in the SEC would be a tough way to start. The Gamecocks will play UCF next after playing Vandy and then the team will play against Kentucky before hitting the road to play Arkansas. The team also has road games against Tennessee and Missouri before playing Mississippi State and then they have one of the biggest games of the year against Florida. The team will finish with Coastal Carolina and then has a massive game against Clemson at the end of the year that could have national implications.
