Dallas Cowboys Rumors: Jerry Jones Accused Giants Faking Injuries As Spite For Salary Cap Penalties? John Mara Pushed Charge On ‘Boys and Redskins Says Andrew Brandt on MMQB

The Dallas Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones were riding high after their opening victory against the Giants and that may have been one reason why he accused the team of faking injuries in the game, but MMQB writer Andrew Brandt said there was reason behind the madness.

Dan Connor was placed on the season ending IR, meaning Jones obviously was wrong in what he said, plus the NFL cleared the Giants, but was the real reason he did it was for spite? According to a column in the MMQB by Andrew Brandt, one reason Jones could have been so publicly at the Giants was in retaliation for John Mara helping push through severe cap penalties on the ‘Boys and the Redskins after moves they made during the uncapped year.

Both teams accepted the penalties back then, but both reportedly were made about it and that is why Jones went a the Giants, writes Brandt. Obviously the team was cleared, but it was a little bit of gamesmanship and clearly Jones knew what he was doing, since he looks pretty foolish after a Giants player was placed on season ending IR.

Here is the line from the column:
"I think it is interesting for Jerry Jones to accuse the Giants of faking injuries. There has been seething under the surface by Jones and Redskins owner Dan Snyder toward Giants owner John Mara, whom they feel led the charge toward severe cap penalties imposed on the Redskins and Cowboys last year for issues in the uncapped year. Jones and Snyder grudgingly accepted the penalties, but they will not easily let go of this issue with the Commissioner and with Mara."
