There are many uncertainties facing the Los Angeles Lakers in the upcoming 2013-14 mainly revolve around how Kobe Bryant will respond since undergoing Achilles surgery last April.

Bryant has shattered all expectations in his recovery timetable particularly because of medical innovations, however, an exact date for his return to the floor has still yet to made known.

According to the L.A. Daily News' Mark Medina, Bryant himself remains uncertain if he will be ready to suit up by the season opener.

"I don't know [whether] that means I'll start the season - I hope so," Bryant said in a recent interview to Time Out Dubai to promote his upcoming trip there later this month to host a basketball clinic.

Bryant also spoke on the progress he's made during the offseason in regards to his Achilles, stating:

"I'm feeling pretty good,'" Bryant said, 'stronger than I was. I'm ahead of [my recovery] schedule."

The Lakers start their season Oct. 29 against the Los Angeles Clippers, giving Bryant a limited time of seven more weeks to rehab his Achilles. When Bryant went down on April 12 against the Golden State Warriors, the Lakers estimated time period he'd be sidelined would be at least six to nine months.
