It's the last month of the regular season. There are plenty of races in divisions that are bound to spark interest as the last days of season are coming around. Here are the standings as Thursday rolls through with a couple of matchups set to rock the standings.

Oakland A's vs. Texas Rangers
The Rangers and A's were tied up in a series and the Athletics got the last laugh, tying the division as both teams finished with the same record. The A's busted the Rangers' behind, 11-4. The Rangers and A's are tied for first place in the A.L. West. Both teams are 80-59.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. St. Louis Cardinals
These two will lock up in a  three-game series. The Pirates play the Cardinals as the two teams are currently No. 1 and No. 2 in the N.L. Central standings. Of the two, the Cardinals have struggled the most as of late. They are 4-6 in their last 10, though they gained ground after their victory over the Cincinnati Reds, who they have owned as of late. Both teams have an off day on Thurday, with the series starting on Friday evening.

A.L. East Situation
The New York Yankees have pulled out of fourth place and are currently a game and a half ahead of the Baltimore Orioles, who were in third place for a good portion of the season. However, the division owners of the A.L. East are the Boston Red Sox and they are eight games ahead of the Yankees. The Tampa Bay Rays are 5.5 games behind the first-place Red Sox, holding on to second place in the division.

AROUND THE LEAGUE

In other divisions around the league, the Detroit Tigers are sitting comfortably in first place with a 6.5-game lead over the Cleveland Indians. The Atlanta Braves still hod the biggest lead among first-place teams, sitting 14 games over the Washington Nationals. The Los Angeles Dodgers have increased their lead from single digits to 12.5 games over the Arizona Diamondbacks.
