Oakland Raiders Rumors: Terrelle Pryor Not Impressive as Starter, Matt Flynn, Tyler Wilson Still Options as Dennis Allen Uncertain of Week 1 Quarterback

The Oakland Raiders were hoping that Terrelle Pryor could have a strong performance in his finale preseason game and his finale audition to win the starting job. While things did not go poorly, things also did not go well, leaving the door wide open for anyone to start at quarterback for the Raiders. Pryor earned the start in the preseason finale against the Seattle Seahawks and failed to win over coaches.

Pryor is still in the running for the starting spot considering Matt Flynn has not looked impressive either. Pryor played the entire first half of the game, going 3-for-8 in passing for 31 yards with one interception. He also rushed 48 yards on three carries.

Pryor ran the ball very well throughout the game. That is not a shock considering his athleticism as always been his strongest asset. However, his passing was lackluster and might not cut it in the long haul for the quarterback. His performance is not making the decision for starter easy on the Raiders.

Rookie Tyler Wilson appeared to play well enough to possibly keep a roster spot. The backup went 8-for-12 for 65 yards in passing, appearing more accurate than in previous performances. Matt McGloin saw limited amount of action as well.

Pryor might still be the best option for the Raiders. As Flynn sits out with an elbow injury, coaches have praised the quarterback's work with the first-team offense during practice throughout the week. Offensive coordinator Greg Olson called Pryor a "playmaker" and said he was what the team was looking for.

"When you see Terrelle in a game, he just looks faster than the other players on the field," Olson said, via Scott Bair of CSNBayArea.com. "That's what jumped out at me, and probably jumped out at most people when they watch him play. He can run. He is a tremendous athlete, and he's got the ability to make plays. Right now we're looking for playmakers."

No matter who gets the starting spot at quarterback, it looks like the Raiders offense will see its fair share of struggles this year. All quarterbacks on the roster do not look NFL ready just yet. Flynn has the most experience, but not by much. Pryor is the most athletic and explosive, but still shows signs of weakness. Both Wilson and McGloin cannot get past their rookie status. Head coach Dennis Allen has a tough decision on his hands.
