The Aaron Hernandez article from Rolling Stone called "The Gangster In the Huddle" is now making the rounds online and a number of allegations have come out about the former Patriots tight end's life, including that he was worried that people were going to kill him and that he was using serious drugs before being arrested for the murder of Odin Lloyd.
The article alleges that Hernandez had issues this spring about working out and getting rehab, reportedly skipping team drills, training sessions and rehab sessions and after being out in California he also had issues with his girlfriend. The article says that Hernandez put his hand through a window in an argument and after the problems over the spring, Belichick told him that he could be released or traded if the issues did not stop.
According to sources in the article, when Hernandez came back to Boston, it was suggested by Belichick that Hernandez get a "safe house" to lay low and he got one in Franklin soon after. The article says that accomplice Carlos Ortiz called it a "flophouse" and that other players also used it from time to time. The flophouse was searched by police after Hernandez was arrested and according to the article, Ernest Wallace came there and moves in and he told neighbors his name was George and he drove Hernandez to team events and practices.
Neighbors previously said there were no other players coming, just "George" and Hernandez, was said at first that he was the cousin of the star. Neighbors said that things were quiet there while the apartment was rented, but that changed after Lloyd was shot, as Wallace and Ortiz stayed there before leaving. Ortiz told the police that they went there and during that interview Ortiz said that Wallace admitted to him that Hernandez did the shooting.
Ortiz likely will be the main witness, as Wallace appears to not be talking and Hernandez is now facing first degree murder charges and that he could face life in prison. The article has plenty more, check out the link and more from Sports World Report.
