Twitter reports have Matt Harvey, the star pitcher of the New York Mets, suffering from elbow issues. Uh oh, that's right. The most feared part of a pitcher's body any team or fan would want to hear injuries on. Reports have it that it's Harvey's UCL, Ulnar Collateral Ligament, which is in the elbow and also caused a talented young hurler, Eric O'Flaherty to undergo season ending Tommy John Surgery.

Ouch! Another blow for the Mets. O'Flaherty, who is a lefty for the Atlanta Braves, went down early in the season due to the same injury. More information on the seriousness on the injury has yet to be announced, but Mets' general manager, Sandy Alderson will soon make an announcement.

It didn't take long before word got out and reporters are already find who's to blame for the injury.

Rex being Rex Ryan, the New York Jets' coach. A little cross-sport, New York reference in that tweet.

However, is there anybody to blame for the injury? The Mets have used Harvey for 178.1 innings in 2013. This is his first full season in the majors. He's racked up 191 strikeouts to lead the National League while posting a 9-5 record with a 2.27 ERA, explaining why the team would want him on the mound for as long as he could go.

Was he poorly used by the Mets?

Harvey has made 26 starts in 2013. He's throw 110 or more pitches in nine of these starts. Nolan Ryan might not find a problem with this as the former major league pitcher and arguably one of the best ever to take a mound, does not believe in placing limits on young arms.

Harvey has been the highlight of the Mets' poor 2013 campaign. It was a season where the team new they were going to be rebuilding, but Harvey gave fans a reason to watch baseball every five days, following his great pitching performance in 2013.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports, has comfirmed the news as a partially torn UCL, which gives the Mets, Harvey and their fans some hope in having their 25-year-old All-Star hurler avoid surgery.
