The Seattle Seahawks have a goal in mind for the 2013 season and it is the Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium and after taking the league by storm last year, quarterback Russell Wilson is ready to lead the attack and Pete Carroll feels his roster is ready for a championship run.
Wilson beat out Matt Flynn last season in training camp and the preseason to win the starting job and once Wilson was able to show what he could do on the field, Flynn never had a chance and that is one reason why he is playing in Oakland now. Wilson had some issues with accuracy at times last season, but he finished with some great stats anyway and now with a full year under his belt, he is ready to be even better.

The offense was expected to keep up with its production from last season with Marshawn Lynch and Sidney Rice and after adding Percy Harvin in a trade they were expected to be even better, but after undergoing hip surgery he likely will be out for the season. Golden Tate will be asked to step up more this year now that Harvin is out and Lynch should be the beast that he always is after rushing for nearly 1,600 yards last season.
Wilson will have more pressure on him this season after playing so well last year, but after showing what he could do at Wisconsin and then in the NFL it would be foolish to doubt him this time around, especially after taking his team to the playoffs. The Seahawks have a balanced attack and a big part of it is the decision making from Wilson, which was stellar last season for a player with his experience. This season the team opens up with a road game against the Carolina Panthers before playing at home against the San Francisco 49ers at home and in Week 3 they will host the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Wilson can be a bit of the forgotten man as a rookie quarterback when talking about Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III, but it was Wilson who tied the rookie touchdown passing record, it was Wilson who set the record for passing yards by a rookie in a playoff game and it was also Wilson that was the only one of the three to actually win his playoff game.
The Seahawks defense was stellar down the stretch last season and it should be even better this year after adding Cliff Avril and Antoine Winfield. The team will be without Chris Clemons while he is recovering from a knee injury and the line play is expected to be improved as well. The offense scored over 60 points twice last season and now they could end up putting up even more with Wilson getting a full year under his belt.
