After a stunning murder in Oklahoma ended the life of a young Australian baseball player, two teens were charged with murder on Tuesday in the case and will be tried as adults in court.

According to ESPN.com, Christopher Lane, a baseball player from Australia attending school in Oklahoma on a scholarship, was shot and killed by a group of teenagers who prosecutors said admitted to being "bored" before deciding to pursue Lane and kill him. The report says that three teenagers decided to go after Lane randomly and he was shot once in the back in the town of Duncan. Prosecutor Jason Hicks described what happened before Lane was killed and two of the boys, Chancey Allen Luna, 16, and James Francis Edwards, Jr., 15, are being charged with first degree murder, while the third, Michael Dewayne Jones, 17, is charged "with using a vehicle in the discharge of a weapon and with accessory to first-degree murder after the fact."

Hicks called the boys "thugs" and described the crime taking place on the north side of town and said that the three were from the "grittier" part of town and described the crime as appalling. The crime was described in court and Hicks said that Jones was the driver while Lane was shot with a .22 caliber revolver in the back. Lane's girlfriend Sarah Harper brought something to the memorial in Duncan and the parents of Lane were stunned when they found out the news.

Lane was a catcher coming from Australia to pursue baseball dreams and now the story has turned utterly tragic. According to ESPN.com, Harper said she did not want to attend any court proceedings and would not be involved. The quote came from her cousin Tara Harper, who is helping the family work on the funeral proceedings and she said that she doesn't want to see or hear what happens in the case, as it never will bring closure.
