A-Rod a Snitch? Did Alex Rodriguez Rat Out Ryan Braun?

Aug 16, 2013 03:21 PM EDT

Alex Rodriguez just picked up another nickame; A-Rat. Rumors around baseball are accusing Rodriguez's associates of ratting out on Milwaukee Brewers' outfielder and 2011 MVP, Ryan Braun. 60 Minutes reported that members of Rodriguez's inner circle leaked the names of Braun and Francisco Cervelli to the media. No wonder the man feels entitled to an appeal, he gave MLB the bait.

Stealing files became a thing for A-Rod's camp. They sent some of these files to Yahoo! and according to ESPN, they had information on Cervelli and Braun use of PED's. One source, Porter Fischer who worked for Biogenesis, said files from his car had been stolen. MLB was all over this, claiming to have proof that A-Rod got his hands on some of these files as he attempted to prevent the information from landing on Bud Selig's lap.

A-Rod being a PED user is one issue, but going out of the way to try and hide the documents from MLB is another thing, which explains why Selig has been so harsh on the Yankees' third baseman. "I spent many, many hours thinking about it, trying to be fair, trying to be logical and rational. And the one thing you learn in this job after 20-something years, I wouldn't second guess it today at all. I know why I did it and what I did. I thought it was eminently fair then and I think it's eminently fair today," said MLB's commissioner.

Those are some strong words.

So not only does A-Rod cheat, but he betrays fellow superstars. Okay, Cervelli is no superstar, but Braun is an elite player. A-Rod is trying to clean his name, but in the process, he wound up throwing a fellow teammate and elite superstar into the flames. Sounds A-Rod will truly never get into the Hall of Fame now. Who know if baseball will forgive Pete Rose and the dope users of this generation? But there is no class in snitching on other baseball players.
