Houston Rockets point guard Jeremy Lin is one of the most popular players in the NBA after breaking out last year and now that he is more high-profile, his visits to his native country are worldwide news and he showed off his skills while speaking in Mandarin at his press conference.

According to ESPN.com, Lin was in Taipei for a trip in the offseason and showed off his language skills by answering questions in Mandarin for reporters. He used English as well as said that he was happy to come to the country and that the fans have been great for him. The 24-year-old is heading into a pressure filled season after the team signed Dwight Howard and now the team is expected to make a championship run after the signing.

The team has a solid core with Lin, Howard, James Harden and Chandler Parsons and after adding names like Francisco Garcia and Marcus Camby GM Daryl Morey thinks the team is ready for the jump. Lin said that he has been practicing heavily in the offseason and while on his trip he will attend charity and endorsement events and along with Parsons he will host an event for students and he will leave on August 21.

According to CNA, the film "Linsanity: The Movie," will debut in Taiwan in October on Oct. 11 and some of the footage even shows him visiting Taiwan two years ago and hitting a karaoke bar. The film documents his rise with the NY Knicks and his move to Houston on a three-year contract.

"I'm so happy to come to Taiwan. Every year, Taiwan's media are very nice to me and the fans here are very passionate," the 24-year-old Lin, the first NBA player of Taiwanese descent, said in Mandarin.
