The Barclays Premier League is one of the most talented and popular football leagues in the entire world and starting this year NBC Sports will bring matches live to the United States for fans to watch and the broadcasts will begin on Saturday August 17 when the EPL season starts up with clubs like Manchester United and Arsenal in action.

NBC was thrilled to get the rights to broadcast the Premier League and it will bring a high number of matches to the main station, with 10 airing live on Saturday in the afternoon as well as 57 matches being broadcast on the NBC Sports Network. The company will offer streaming coverage through their NBC Sports Live Extra App and the network has also built other programming around the coverage, including a studio show. The network has over 60 matches that will be broadcast through December and some of the highlights from the first weekend of action include Manchester United taking on Swansea City, while Liverpool will start off early on against Stoke City.

Manchester's match will feature the club without Alex Ferguson and the following week they will play against Chelsea and José Mourinho and that match will be broadcast on NBCSN the Monday after next. Liverpool will play Manchester United on September 1 and on that same day Arsenal will play against Tottenham in a doubleheader. The offseason and summer has been dominated by headlines involving a number of high profile players, including everything with Gareth Bale and the interest from Madrid.

Other players like Clint Dempsey moved from Tottenham to the Seattle Sounders in Major League Soccer and while many saw that as a shocking move, the American star said that he had been thinking about the move for some time. Reports about Bale moving have "cooled" in recent days and while the club is making a hard push for him, there is a good chance he will remain with Tottenham, as the season is starting up.
