Tim Tebow Rumors: Patriots Quarterback Tells Video Cameraman Jesus Christ Loves Him After New England Preseason NFL Game Against Philadelphia Eagles

Aug 12, 2013 01:42 PM EDT

New England Patriots quarterback Tim Tebow got his first preseason action in Week 1 against the Philadlephia Eagles in a 31-22 victory for the Pats and after the game he gave a cameraman some Tim Tebow advice about Jesus.

According to ESPN.com and Kent Babb on Twitter, Tebow told a locker room cameraman after he yelled "Jesus Christ" after a mistake, that "He loves you", in response to his outburst. Tebow has been mostly quiet about his faith since joining the Patriots and he has been concentrating on football, but he clearly couldn't help himself in this situation. Tebow got into the game after Ryan Mallett suffered a head injury and while he wasn't sharp, he finished with some solid plays and looked comfortable on the field.

Tebow finished going 4-for-12 with 55 passing yards as well as four rushes for 31 yards and he got into the game after Mallett got hit by defensive ends Vinny Curry and Damion Square with 1:22 left in the second quarter. Tebow struggled at times and Bill Belichick called it a work in progress, but the quarterback after the game said he felt good about his play. He got the team into the endzone with a scoring drive and a touchdown from running back LeGarrette Blount and he likely will get some more action in the week 2 preseason game as well.

"I think I've got room for improvement," he said after the game. "I did some things well, there are some other things I'd like to do better, and I think that's what these games are for. I definitely want to learn from it and improve and next week do a little bit better."

From Kent Babb on Twitter: In the Pats locker room, a camera guy has a mishap and yells, "Jesus Christ!" Tebow, in earshot, looks at the guy and says: "He loves you."
