The Aaron Hernandez murder case had some movement yesterday when the former Patriots star was in court for a probable cause hearing that was later delayed and now more news has come out regarding the investigation, as federal agents could get involved and the death penalty could come into play.

Reports have come out that Hernandez has been connected to the July 2012 murder of Safiro Furtado and Daniel Abreu in the nightclub area of Boston and that case could get the feds involved and that could mean Hernandez has the chance to face the death penalty. While that is not certain and the death penalty would be hard to bring out, just the fact that it's mentioned is very serious. According to Pro Football Talk, Hernandez could face the death penalty in the double murder if he is indicted and he is already looking at an indictment from a grand jury in the murder of Lloyd, for which he is charged with first degree murder.

Hernandez has pleaded guilty to the charges and attorney Jack Furlong explained to Pro Football Talk that if the feds get involved in the other case, the death penalty could come into play since the murder may have to do with covering up information about the other crimes. Some reports say that Odin Lloyd, the man Hernandez stands accused of killing, may have been murdered due to information that he knew about the previous double murder from the year before. Massachusetts doesn't have the death penalty, but the attorney said that the case could go federal since it crosses state lines over Florida, Connecticut and Massachusetts and that would put the death penalty into play for Hernandez.

During his hearing Hernandez appeared with a beard and suit jacket and it was the first time he was in court since he was denied bail for the second time after his arraignment. Hernandez was released by the Patriots soon after he was arrested and in court on Wednesday police confiscated the phone of his cousin, as she lived with one of the accomplices in the case. Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace are accomplices in the case and are in custody and there is chance that Ortiz is talking.

Hernandez has been tied to the murder through shell casings, video surveillance and text messages and he was arrested after the body of Lloyd was found near his home. Wallace reportedly told Ortiz that Hernandez admitted to the shooting and now he could be facing life in prison for the crime. Lawyers said it may have stemmed from a dispute at a club and now that dispute may have been about the double murder and now that the death penalty is even at the fringe of conversation, Hernandez has many issues to deal with.
