The Oakland Raiders have a rich NFL history that includes Super Bowl's and some of the best players to ever suit up on the gridiron, but the team also has some history they wish they didn't, one primary moment being the infamous Tuck Rule game against the New England Patriots from 2002.
The NFL Network re-broadcasted the game over the weekend and according to Pro Football Talk, the Oakland Raiders Twitter account mentioned the showing and tweeted at the station and said that the team has gotten over it in a facetious tone. Later on the team tweeted out again and wrote that one further review they were still not over the game. That matchup of course was between the Raiders and Patriots in the divisional playoffs and Oakland lost 16-13 and that game included the infamous play that saw Charles Woodson force what looked like a game clinching fumble on Tom Brady, but the referees of course looked at it and called an incomplete pass.
Woodson caused the fumble and was directly involved in the play in the Tuck Rule game and now he is back in the Black and Silver for the 2013 season. The team signed Woodson to a one-year contract that is worth up to $4.3 million and Woodson decided to return to the bay area rather than sign with the Denver Broncos, who were also in the running to snag him. Of course the Raiders made it to the Super Bowl the next season (and lost to their old coach in Jon Gruden and the Buccaneers), but the team felt it left one on the field in New England after that game.
Woodson became a free agent after the Packers decided to release him at the age of 36 and now he is back with the team that originally drafted him and he will likely replace Michael Huff in the starting lineup after he was released and signed with the Ravens. Woodson is part of a big overhaul for the Raiders and general manager Reggie McKenzie that includes Mike Jenkins, Tracy Porter, Kevin Burnett, Nick Roach and draft picks D.J. Hayden and linebacker Sio Moore.
