NBA Summer League Update: Ben McLemore Struggles, Otto Porter, Shabazz Muhammad and LA Lakers Robert Sacre Making Strong Impressions

The NBA Summer League can be a gift or a curse for rookies and fringe players, as they can get the chance to shine and show teams what they are made of, but other times it can be a highlight of weaknesses and that is what Ben McLemore is going through right now.

The Kings rookie has been solid in summer league play, but over the past week he has struggled mightily with his shot, going 4-of-12 in his last game, which came after another rough outing against the Mavericks that saw him go 4-for-23. The Warriors forced him to go left when he wanted to go right mostly and that opened up some weaknesses in his game, as he was forced to shoot more than he would have liked.

McLemore likely will get it together as he moves along through the summer, but if he can't be more accurate from outside, he might start the season on the bench. Shabazz Muhammad has been playing aggressive for the Timberwolves and the team has liked what he has done in the passing game, as they already know how polished his offensive game is.

Otto Porter was out of practice during the week with a tight hamstring and he likely will sit until it is fully healthy. Lakers center Robert Sacre likely is the only player on his team that will make the actual roster and so far he has done a good job on defense and with spacing and that could be big for Los Angeles as the season gets closer.

"I don't feel like they were," McLemore said of the effort to push him left. "They was just trying to stop me from shooting. That's what most teams going to do, so when I see that I'm going to drive to the hole, get into the lane, get to the line."
