Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick has had his fair share of legal troubles in the past and while that was a rough time for the star, his brother has done him zero favors in the past couple years when he takes to Twitter to talk about him and he did that again this week.
Vick's brother Marcus, who also played college ball at Virginia Tech and has never proven that he can play in the NFL, took to Twitter to write about the recent developments in the George Zimmerman Trial about the murder of Trayvon Martin, who was an unarmed black teen that was gunned down by the overzealous neighborhood watchman. According to Pro Football Talk, Vick wrote online about the case and compared it to his brother's legal troubles involving dog fighting and other crimes.
Vick has had issues on Twitter in the past, including about writing posts about trades for his brother and now he has written about the Zimmerman case, saying: "Zimmerman better get 30+ years in prison," Marcus Vick said via Twitter. "If my brother had to do 2 years it's a must. Not self defense when u chase down an innocent kid."
While Vick's tweets don't take in some of the details of the case, he has the same attitude as many others regarding the case, feeling that Zimmerman deserves to go to jail for what is perceived as a racist act and also that his crime was far worse than killing dogs, as it was a human life. No one is going to give Vick a law degree, but he does have some point in the fact that Zimmerman can basically say whatever he wants about the shooting and Martin is not there to refute it.
While Michael Vick surely doesn't condone his brother's Tweets, he much be annoyed at having to deal with it every so often and is likely ignoring any fallout from it. The Zimmerman case has been a very high profile one and the jury likely will start deliberating by the end of the week and later this month the Eagles will begin training camp for the first time under Chip Kelly, as he takes over from his years at Oregon.
Vick also added: "He could've fired warning shots!!! I hope the homies in the BIG house go bananas on his racist ass."
