The New York Yankees get their captain back as Derek Jeter makes his season debut against the Kansas City Royals. Can't watch the game? If you're outside of the New York or Kansas City area, you're in luck. Check out the live stream of this game provided by MLB.TV.

Andy Pettitte, another Yankee legend, takes the ball as he will attempt to split the four-game series. The Royals arrived at the Yankee Stadium and disrespected the Bronx Bombers in the first game of the series, winning 5-1. Then they won again on Tuesday, 3-1. After holding the Yankees to two runs in both games, Robinson Cano took charge, going 3-4 with a home run and three RBI on the night. The Yankees won easily 8-1 behind Cano's strength and Ivan Nova's stellar eight innings of one-run ball.

Pettitte is 6-6 in the season with a 4.37 ERA. He's coming off a win against the Baltimore Orioles where he went 6.2 innings, allowing just three earned runs on nine hits. It's significant that Pettitte is on the mound as Jeter gets set to make his return. Like Jeter, Pettitte was a crucial piece in the Yankees' run in the late 90's. Now, as they enter the latter stages of their careers, along with Mariano Rivera, they are the players from that dynasty still in the team.

Opposing Pettitte and the Yankees wil be right-hander, Ervin Santana, who has surprised many in 2013. After being traded to the Royals, Santana has shown how good he can be. He posted a 9-13 record in 2012 accompanied by a whopping 5.16 ERA. He has bettered his mechanics, or maybe it's simply the change of environment that has helped him start the season off to a 5-5 record with a 2.90 ERA. Santana will look to bounce back after taking a no-decision against the Oakland Athletics where he pitched seven innings allowing three earned runs on seven hits and two walks.
