The Atlanta Hawks and Milwaukee Bucks have been in discussions about a possible swapping of restricted free-agent point guards Brandon Jennings and Jeff Teague.
If the deal follows through then Teague would be reunited with Bucks' coach Larry Drew.
Teague averaged 14.6 points and 7.2 assists while shooting 45.1 percent from the field last season. Jennings did score more with an average of 17.5 points, but he shot only 39.9 percent overall and handed out fewer assists per game.
If the swap does occur then the Hawks will be out of contention for free agent Monta Ellis.
Ellis, 27, signed a six-year, $66 million contact with the Golden State Warriors in 2008 and was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks last season where he averaged 19.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and six assists.
Ellis opted out of the final year his six-year deal, thus making one of the league's top shooting guards a free agent.
