NY Knicks Rumors: Lamar Odom, Elton Brand, Aaron Brooks, Kenyon Martin Free Agent Targets As Chris Copeland Lost To Pacers, Team Has Support For Carmelo Anthony?

The New York Knicks have started to restock in free agency after bringing back both J.R. Smith and Pablo Prigioni and now the team is ready to move onto other players and some targets include Elton Brand, Aaron Brooks and Matt Barnes among others as they try to make a championship run.

The team brought back smith on a four-year deal worth about $25 million, while the point guard will return to the team on a three-year, $6 million contract that should solidify the backcourt after losing Jason Kidd. The team now has a number of other needs to address, including more bench players as well as size on the inside, which is why they are looking hard at Elton Brand.

According to USA Today, the Knicks are interested in bringing in Brand after trading for Andrea Bargnani to help add some rebounding apart from just Tyson Chandler. Brand was on the bench mostly last season for the Mavericks and if the Knicks bring him in he could add some depth and support down low for the team, especially with his 9.1 rebounding average for his career. Amar'e Stoudemire proved he couldn't stay healthy last season and the Knicks will need more from that area, making Brand a solid fit.

Brooks could also be a solid addition, as he could come in at a cheap price to add some solid shooting and scoring from off the bench. The team was interested in Carlos Delfino, but he is off the market to the Bucks now. Kenyon Martin is getting some looks from teams in free agency, but he could return as well.

Lamar Odom could also be an option if the team loses out on Brand and despite averaging 4.0 PPG and 5.9 RPG last season, he appears ready to get back to his old self.
