Swansea confirmed the signing of Jordi Amat from Espanyol, with Wilfried Bony set to follow after Vitesse reportedly accepted a bid of around £10 million ($15 million).
The 21-year-old Amat, who spent last season on loan at Rayo Vallecano, joins the Welsh side after Swansea agreed a £2.5 million ($3.8 million) fee and the move will be officially completed once the defender completes a medical.
"Swansea City have completed the £2.5m signing of central defender Jordi Amat from Espanyol, subject to a medical and international clearance," the club said in a statement on their official website.
"Amat arrived at the Liberty Stadium late on Thursday night and finalised a four-year deal with the club."
If the word of Bony's agent is to be taken, then the Ivory Coast international is set to be the next one in at the Liberty Stadium.
Bony's representative, Francis Kacou, claimed a fee had already been agreed with Vitesse and now it was only a matter of ironing out minor details before the 24-year-old striker completes his move to the English Premier League.
"Bony will go to Swansea," Kacou told Dutch newspaper de Gelderlander.
"For how many years? We still have to work out that part. Hopefully more will be clear soon."
Bony has been linked with several big Premier League clubs, including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool and if Michael Laudrup does complete the signing of the striker, then it will be seen as a major coup ahead of the new season.
Another player that Laudrup will hope to sign is Jonathan De Guzman, who enjoyed a brilliant spell on loan last season.
Swansea are trying to work out a permanent transfer with Villarreal and De Guzman would clearly love to return next season.
"My ears are always open," De Guzman said on his official website about a possible return to Swansea.
"I had a great year there. The people around the club and the fans treated me well.
"It was not just the results we had, it was more about showing we can also compete with the big teams. We played better against the bigger teams.
"We played well in a lot of games. We played good football and it's refreshing playing in a team that has a good football mind.
"I'm very satisfied with what happened. We did very well -- we were very creative. We really put Swansea on the map."
